It was my pleasure to be hired under the Local Government Association‘s Local Growth Advisor initiative to help Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council complete their 2014 Local Economic Assessment. I undertook this work between December 2013 and February 2014.
The Local Economic Assessment analyses the Borough’s characteristics, performance and trends, and shows the nature and extent of the opportunities and challenges that exist. This executive summary highlights the key insights that can help to inform policy, delivery and strategy. The Assessment has been undertaken against the chapters of Business, People and Place; recognising these as a series of inter connected economic factors. Based on the most up-to-date available evidence and statistics, the Stockton-on-Tees Local Economic Assessment is part of the decision-making toolkit for Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, local partners and businesses. It dovetails with the Tees Valley Economic Assessment and recognises the economic conditions and drivers that cross Tees Valley Local Authority boundaries.
