Athey Consulting – the first three months

Uncategorized

Since starting out as an independent consultant in October 2011, things have been very busy. I won a major contract to research and write the first LEP Network annual report. This involved benchmarking LEP area performance, and adding insights and commentary on the significance of findings for local economic development. The idea was to discuss the major challenges facing LEP areas, and to qualify some of the statistics with insights about the local economic development process. This consultancy project was a team effort – involving myself, Alan McGregor (U. of Glasgow), Rob Huggins (U. of Cardiff), Louise Lovegrove (Love Communicating), Maggie Magennis and Steve Denman (who provided the stunning maps).
And then in November I was notified that I’d been successful in my application to work for three days per week at the Greater Cambridge and Greater Peterborough Local Enterprise Partnership – as the strategy and investment lead.
And on top of that, we had a new addition to our family in December – baby Daniel, who is now two months old.
So things have been really successful, and really busy! wow!
Glenn.
