Identifying emerging markets in your locality

Back in 2021, I collaborated with Cambridge Econometrics, Frost & Sullivan, and The Data City to analyse the North East’s potential in emerging markets like Fintech, Cybersecurity, Hydrogen, Renewable Energy, and IoT.

Our research aimed to identify key players, assess the North East’s market share, and explore growth opportunities. We focused on 28 markets but narrowed down to the top 16 with the highest potential for company growth, innovation, economic growth, inward investment, and skills jobs -that could build on existing firms, value chains, R&D, institutions and skills specialisms in the region.
